“Figtree House” Waterfront, NSW

PreviousNext

Grand Living at Hunters Hill, NSW

Property Summary

Category: HouseBedrooms: 5Bathrooms: 4Garage: 4Land: 2095.00sqm (approx)Close to: Sydney: 6km (direct line)

This residence caught my eye for the obvious reason, it looks a bit like a castle from the water!

But closer up, it’s lovely from outside, very inviting with the cobblestoned driveway, and is currently for sale for quite a bit, I’d say about $7 million big ones!

Now that’s a verandah!

There weren’t many photos of this home to put here, and in my experience that is because they don’t like to photograph rooms that don’t look great, perhaps this bedroom gives you an idea of some of the rooms decor, and why they may not have been pictured… but hey, I’d still live there just for the waterfront lifestyle…

And of course, the customary private jetty.

And here’s the master plan if you’re interested…

AND what did the agent say!

“Figtree House” Historic Deep Waterfront

Set on approximately 2,095 sqm of level north facing grounds, this extraordinary sandstone residence offers breathtaking water views and exceptionally wide frontage to the Lane Cove River.

Originally built as 2 adjacent stone cottages this is a home of distinction at the end of a picturesque cul de sac. Incomparable in all that it offers, purists will delight in the home’s rich history and restored period features not to mention the enormous level garden and magnificent deep verandahs onto which all living and dining rooms open. Bathed in northerly sunshine with a jetty and pontoon and enjoying the gentle sounds of lapping waters at the sandstone sea wall and birdsong adding finishing touches to the home’s graceful French influences.

A significant landmark from the water yet blissfully private, Figtree House is a short drive to some of Sydney’s best schools and shopping precincts.

Features include: Cobbled private driveway to generous 4 car garage, pavilion, main entrance hall, drawing room, formal dining room, breakfast room, galley kitchen and sitting room.

4 principal bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, separate self contained quarters with a 5th bedroom, 4th bathroom, eat in kitchen, living/dining and air conditioning. 2 lower level historic stone rooms provide an ideal games room and adjoining sitting room. Abundant built in storage, impressive stone work, cedar paneling, soaring ceilings, timber floors, copper gutters / downpipes and back to base alarm.

Hahahhaha!! I just read your comment on my Monday Memories post — maybe I should re-phrase “the girl was easy”!! 😀

I LOVE the stone wall in the dining room. And the wood buffet and table are perfect 🙂 The other rooms, maybe not so perfect… but the verandah is awesome!!
