Gothic Revival Sandstone Home

Property Summary

PRICE RANGE: $7 MILLION
Category: HouseBedrooms: 9Bathrooms: 9Garage: Double

This home would be a dream to go visit.
I wish I lived in Sydney and this home was open to the public, because the styling of the home is just flawless…

No detail is overlooked in this home, the flooring, the painting, the furniture, the lighting, it’s all immaculate.

I can’t tell you how many lovely kitchens I come across in the $5M+ homes I see, but most are not “stunning”, this one however, is.
In fact, words fail me on this one!

Unfortunately the home did not list many pictures, because I’d love a peek at all the rooms, I noted from the floorplan below that all bedrooms had their own ensuite, the master had a huge ensuite and a WIR larger than normal bedrooms. If this home isn’t a designer custom home, then I don’t know what is anymore!

And here’s the master plan, check out all those rooms,
not too shabby for a historic property!!!

AND What did the Agent say?

Lovingly restored historic landmark residence.

Unquestionably one of Lavender Bay’s most distinguished landmarks, this breathtaking eight bedroom Gothic Revival sandstone mansion has been lovingly restored and luxuriously modernised to the most meticulous standards. Proudly elevated on approximately 1183sqm parcel of land opposite harbourside Clark Park, it enjoys a commanding uninterrupted view across the harbour to the Bridge, city skyline and Walsh Bay. A peerless property of undeniable international stature, magnificent in both its proportions and aesthetic appeal, it was built in 1885 by mining engineer James Thomas Atchison on land subdivided from the estate of James Milson Jnr. Surrounded by impeccably manicured level gardens complete with a heated pool framed by Italian limestone, it retains every inch of its timeless grandeur and charm, with every conceivable modern convenience added for total comfort. Eight ensuite bedrooms, nine bathrooms and two powder rooms are contained within separate parents’, children’s and guest wings. Its master suite is palatial, encompassing a sitting area, a lavish Carrara marble ensuite with a freestanding bath and a custom-designed dressing room. Refined lounge and dining rooms provide a regal setting for formal entertaining, opening to a shady veranda. Expansive casual living space encompasses a fully integrated Poliform designer kitchen featuring Calacutta marble benchtops, Miele appointments and walk-in pantry. A recreation wing contains an office and a dedicated gym room with mirrored walls and a TV, while a stately library features a bar, walk-in wine cellar and an adjoining conservatory for soaking up the northerly sun. An additional home cinema features its own kitchenette. Absolutely no detail has been overlooked in the creation of a home of timeless elegance and total luxury. Details include lift access, double auto garaging with level internal access, a versatile utility room, air conditioning and gorgeous original features such a soaring ceilings, ornate leadlight windows, marble fireplaces, dark-stained timber floorboards, a slate roof and gables. Enjoying one of the Lower North Shore’s most vibrant and picturesque settings. Take a leisurely stroll to Blues Point Road or Kirribilli dining and the heart of the North Sydney centre, or be in the city in just five minutes.

Oh Annie, I have stalked this one previously. It's just gorgeous. One thing stood out though… don't Sydney-sider's have to fence their pools? I see so many luxury homes in NSW during my stalking where you can walk out of the house and fall straight in the pool. Here in Qld, fence goes up before the house! Looks better without the fence though… oh maybe they photoshop them out? A-M xx

The kitchen is wow… loving it. it's very interesting how the decorator/designer has mixed all the modern elements with all that traditional furniture. Specifically the diningroom, ghost chairs…

And is that really their view? OMG.

Keep stalking and I'll keep dreaming.
    cheers
    Susan

Goodness, how many rooms? That makes me feel a little faint, but I suppose if you can afford $7m, you can afford a cleaner!
From the photos shown, I think I like the master bedroom best.
